The many friends of Col. A.S. Gregg in this city will regret exceedingly to learn of his death which occurred at his home Thursday evening of last week. He was one of the best known men in Washington County and numbered his friends by the hundred. He was sheriff of the county from 1862 to '64 and was circuit clerk from 1876 to 1884. Peace to his memory.
