A little History of William Steward as printed in the book 'History In Headstones" written by Doris Stevenson West and Susan Stevenson Swinburn printed in 1970 by the Press-Argus.

In 1832, he married Malissa Dickerson and she bore him nine children: Noah (died in infancy), Phoebe, John, Samuel, William, Frances, Mary, Henry, and Fannie.
