William R. Clark Passes Away

William R. Clark of Calico Rock died May 9, at the Calico Rock Medical Center at the age of 60 years.

The funeral was held May 11, 1t 2:00 p.m. at the Calico Rock Methodist Church. The burial took place at the Roselawn Cemetery in Calico Rock with McCollum Funeral Home in charge of services.

He was the president of White River Oil and Butane Co. Inc. and was a member of the Calico Rock Methodist Church, the Calico Rock Lions Club, the Calico Rock Fire Dept. for 14 years, 6 of which he was chief and a member of the Calico Rock City Council 8 years. He was a past member of the Board of Chamber of Commerce, charter member of Independence Lodge 4 IOOF Batesville and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Calico Rock Methodist Church.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James L. Clark. Survivors include his wife, Orlean Harlin Clark of the home, children William R. Clark, Jr., Overland, Kansas; James E. Clark, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Betty Clark Talburt, Bald Knob, Ark. and Patricia Clark Whitefield, Stillwater, Okla. He had 10 grandchildren and one brother, Mr. Roy Clark, Hardin, Ky. and two sisters, Opal Dailey, Flippin, Ark. and Thelma Burrow, Seattle, Wash.

The pallbearers were: M. C. Bagwell, George Washington, E. E. McCormick, Earl Jeffery, Rayvon Cantrell, O. S. Harris, alternates, Jack Carmen and John Grasse.

The honorary pallbearers were the employees of White River Oil and Butane Co., Calico Rock Lions Club and Calico Rock Fire Dept. members.
