Frank Holden Dies in Veterans Hospital
Frank Lynn Holden, aged 62, a resident of Calico Rock for only a few weeks died in the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock Wednesday, January 21. He entered the hospital only a few days before his death.
Mr. Holden was born in Illinois, moving to Missouri early in life, where he was married to Bessie Brackett. For the past 11 years he had been employed in the shipyards of California. He came to Calico Rock last July and made his home with his son, Lawrence Holden. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife of Houston, Mo.; two sons, Lawrence Holden of Calico Rock, Billy Holden of Carso, Mo., four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Stacey, Carso, Mo., Mrs. Mattie Campbell, Mrs. Vina Blankenship and Miss Iva Holden of Houston, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Shepherd of Licking, Mo., and two brothers, Curt and Clyde Holden of Licking, Mo. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Calico Rock Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. J. D. McNair officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery at this place, with the Hall Funeral Service in charge.
Pall bearers were: Spence Harris, Homer Arnold, Chas. C. Ferrill, Tommie Seay, Hardy Harris and Neill Brooks.
