Archie L. Morris, aged 52 years, died at the Camden Hospital Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Morris owned and operated the Morris Service Station at 407 South California Street and had been a resident of Camden for the past 19 years. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Johnnie Brandon of Waldo, Mrs. Tommie Johnson of Camden, Mrs. Roy Braithwaite, Jr., of El Dorado and Mrs. Clifford Brown of Camden; two sons, Archie L. Morris, Jr. of Camden, and Joe T. Word of the U. S. Navy; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Proctor's Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Jack R. Hackworth, with Rev. E. T. Burgess of Waldo, assisting. Burial in Shiloh Cemetery with Proctor's in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - January 22, 1948)
