Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas, April 17, 1942:
Mrs. Lackey W. Moody Dies Sunday Afternoon
Mrs. Imogene Holder Moody, wife of Lackey W. Moody of Batesville, until recently of this place, died in the Rollins Hospital at Gassville, Sunday after noon, where she had been a patient about two weeks. Her condition was thought to be satisfactory until last Saturday when she took a turn for the worse and succumbed after an operation Sunday.
Deceased was 23 years of age. She was born July 29, 1918 at Heyt, Okla., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Holder, and moved here in her infancy. She attended Calico Rock schools and made outstanding scholastic records at each term until her graduation from Calico Rock High School in 1936. She married to Lackey W. Moody December 20, 1935. To this union was born on April 1, 1942, a son, Lackey Gene.
Mrs. Moody was converted and joined the Baptist church early in life. She was a faithful follower of Christ and her life was an inspiration to all.
The funeral was held at the Methodist Church at this place Tuesday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. Randall, pastor of the Central Avenue Methodist Church of Batesville, and Rev. John Ed Steely, pastor of the Calico Rock Baptist Church. Miss Pauline Lamb was soloist.
Deceased is survived by her husband and baby son, her parents and one brother, Bertie Lee Holder; also a host of friends who loved her.
Active pall bearers were M. A. Moody, John Moody, Jr., William R. Estes, Jim Lamb, Jimmie Hively and Paul Melton.
Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery at this place.
