Funeral Services for Mrs. Talburt Held Here Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Joe Ann Talburt who died Friday, June 2 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Weigand in Pueblo, Colo., were held at the Church of Christ at this place Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Elder T. H. Sherrill of New Port officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery at this place, under direction of the Crouch Funeral Service of Batesville.
Mrs. Talburt was born at Bakersfield, Mo., moving to Arkansas as a child. She was a resident of Fulton County for several years before moving to Izard County. She was married to Walter Lee Talburt, who preceded her in death by eleven years. She was a resident of Creswell before moving to Calico Rock about 30 years ago. Suffering a break in health three years ago, she went to Colorado to make her home with her daughter. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for over 40 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Weigand of Pueblo, Mrs. Lorine Jackson of Wichita, Kansas and Mrs. Tony Becherl, Jr., of Mountain Home, Ark.; four sons, Herman L. Talburt of Calico Rock, Lucian Talburt of Ephrata, Wash., Thomas Talburt of Wichita, Kansas and John Talburt of Stockton, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Wood of Searcy, Ark. And one brother, John H. Caldwell of Little Rock.
Pallbearers were: E. C. Rodman, Dr. Noel Copp, J. O. Cheney, Cecil Brumitt, Ervil Seay and Hale Garner.
