Born Egypt, Craighead County, Arkansas.
Died Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas.
Son of Minor Jackson Bennett & Hattie Dora Parsons.
Husband of Joanne Bennett.
He was a former Mayor of Calico Rock. He was a retired Lt. Col. of the U. S. Army Reserves and served in World War II and the Korean War, a former State Commander of the American Legion, a member of the Board of Trustees of the American, Vice Chairman of the American Legion Legislative Council, a member of the Izard county representatives to the National Organization of Disabilities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Calico Rock.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Bennett of Calico Rock; two sons, Sam Bennett and David Bennett; two daughters, Joyce Young and Sarah Taylor; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Jensen and Vera Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents.
