*BLACK OVERVIEW

Black Cemetery
Scott County,
Arkansas

This is an endangered cemetery. There are no graves that have markings on the stones. There are approximately 20 graves that are marked with native stones and there is also the remains of what looks like a crypt that has been knocked down. (It is under the fallen tree.) To locate this cemetery, go west on Hwy 28 west to Bates. Turn onto Walker Mountain Road and when you pass the Gipson Cemetery, turn right on Blackford Road. Follow Blackford Road to the very end. There will be a crossing of the creek on the left and a locked gate to a pasture on the right. The cemetery is about 1/4 mile behind the locked gate in a grove of trees. This is private property and you must have permission to enter.
