MEDEARIS, Thomas Beecher - Thos. B. Medearis died at the home of his son, R.A. Medearis, Southside Gravette, Friday, Jan. 31, 1919, aged 92 years, 3 mos, 6 days. He had been quite feeble for some months. Thomas Beecher Medearis was born Oct. 25, 1826 near Pickway, Ohio, one of nine children born to Abraham and Charity Medearis. Married Feb. 23, 1860 to Miss Helen Ingersol. He is survived by two sons and one daughter: Dr. C.M. Medearis of Kansas City; R.A. Medearis of Gravette and Hattie E. Mills of Oakwood, Okla. He was a type of sturdy Christian pioneers of our country. He had been a member of the church since childhood, uniting with the local M.E. church three years ago. The writer conducted the funeral Saturday afternoon at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery where the body was laid to rest. The community unites with us in offering sympathy to the bereaved ones. J.F. MEDEARIS, Mrs. T.B. {INGERSOLL} - Grandma Medearis, the wife of T.B. Medearis, who fell and injured her hip a few days ago, passed away Wednesday noon. The funeral will be conducted this Thursday afternoon by Rev. R.L. Jackson. Mrs. Medearis and her aged husband made their home with their son, R.A. Medearis, south of town. Another son, Dr. C.B. Medearis, resides in Kansas City and comes to attend the funeral. An obituary will appear next week.

Mrs. Medearis was born April 17, 1835 at Hinkley, Medina Co., Ohio; was one of 11 Children born to Reuben and Christina Ingersoll. She graduated from Hinkley grammar school and came west to Illionis in 1858 and was married to T.B. Medearis Feb. 23, 1860. Four children were born to the union, 2 boys and 2 girls. One daughter died several years ago. The other daughter, Mrs. Hattie E. Mills, resides at Oakwood, Okal. The sons, Reuben A., is of Gravette and Dr. C.M. of Kansas City, Kan. The husband also survives. Mrs. Medearis was a good and true wife, a kind and thoughtful mother, ever ready to help the poor, the sick and needy in her younger life. She moved to Gravette 7 years ago with her aged husband and for some months had made her home with her son, Reuben, and family. Rev. R.L. Jackson conducted the funeral Friday, Nov. 9 and the body was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The community extends condolence to the family.
