James Almar Morris, 71, died Wednesday in a hospital in Shreveport, La. He was born in 1894 in the Hephzibah Community near Emerson, and was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. At the time of his death he was living in Haynesville, La. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Flossie Malch Morris; three daughters, Mrs. Don Male of Howard City, Mich.; Mrs. Erwin Zeuk, Fremont, Mich.; Mrs. James Harris, Pine Bluff; three sons, W. D. Morris of Village; Hollis Morris, El Dorado; J. R. Morris, Alexandria, La.; one brother, Bob Morris, Shreveport, La.; 21 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Hephzibah Church near Emerson, with burial in the church cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
