GRAVETTE, Ark. — Services for Merrill Emmerson Howell, 75, Gravette, who died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday at Gravette Medical Center after five days of illness, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Callison - McKinney Funeral Home, Gravette.

Donald Martin, minister, officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Gravette.

Born Oct, 19, 1996, in the State of Kansas, Mr. Howell had lived in Gravette 60 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lottie Howell; a son, Charles Howell, Republic, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Campbell, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Dottie Lou Woods, Oswego, Kan.; a brother, Gene Howell, Salinas, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Garman, Gravette; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

GRAVETTE — Lottie Howell, 101, of Gravette died, July 6, 2001, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. She was born March 2, 1900, in Crescent, Okla., to Reuban Abraham and Awilda Osborn Mederis. She moved to the Gravette area in 1910 from Crescent and was a homemaker. She worked at Callison-Lough Funeral Service. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Gravette and an Eastern Star member. She was preceded in death in 1972 by her husband, Merrill E. Howell, to whom she was married for more than 50 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Merrill Irene Campbell of Tulsa and Dottie L. Woods of Owasso, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Gravette. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Hillcrest Cemetery of Gravette, with Raymond Scott officiating.
