Waco Stapleton Dies Suddenly

Waco Stapleton, aged 38, died at his home on Highway No. 5, five mile west of Calico Rock, last Sunday morning at about four o'clock, as the result of a heart attack. Death came suddenly. He suffered a heat stroke and told his wife to raise him up in bed, and as she did so he passed away.

Except for the heart ailment, he appeared in reasonably good health and was in Calico Rock the greater part of the day Saturday.

Deceased was born in Missouri, but has lived in this part of the county since childhood. He was a World War Veteran and served overseas with his infantry, rendering valiant service to his country's cause. He has been engaged in the sawmill business the past few years.

He is survived by his widow, several children, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church here Monday at 2 p.m.. Services were conducted by Rev. F. G. Villines. Interment took place in Rose Lawn cemetery in this city with military honors, members of the local posts of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars participating.
