Raymond Ray Drake, 78, of 801 South Parrot Drive, Huntsville, Arkansas, died April 22, 1999 at Meadowview Lodge Nursing Home in Huntsville. He was born March 26, 1921 at Wesley, Arkansas, the son of A.C. "Cal" and Maggie M. Sims Drake. He was a retired automobile mechanic and a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Naideen Presley Drake of the home; nine nephews and nieces and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Eldon Bagwell, Rev. Jim Spurlock and Rev. David Watson officiating. Interment was in the Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers were Mike Witt, Bob Easterling, Charles Gurley, Buddy Spurlock, Jasper Spradling and Jake Brandenburg. Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Watson, L.N. Burks, Jim Hargis, Bill Mason, Mike Montgomery and Eddie Whorton.
