Son of James Luther Chadwick and Mary Rosa Soden Chadwick.

Oral J. Chadwick, son of the late James Luther Chadwick and Mary Rosa Soden Chadwick was born July 31, 1913 in Union, Arkansas. He departed this life on August 24, 2010 in Piggott, Arkansas at the age of 97 years and 24 days. In 1936 he was united in marriage to Ollie Gertrude Staggs. During his working years he was a farmer and employed as the school custodian in Rector, Arkansas. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Calico Rock.
He is survived by one son; William R. Chadwick of Westfield, Wisconsin; two daughters and one son-in-law; Mary Long of Republic, Missouri and Marie and Wavil Wayland of Mtn. Home; three brothers, J. D. Chadwick of Rector, Arkansas, David Chadwick of Lexington, Kentucky and Mike Chadwick of Piggott, Arkansas; one sister, Leona Thompson of Cashmere, Washington; eight grandchildren; Larry Owens, Cameron Owens, Darren Owens, Steve Wayland, Frank Wayland, Reamell Kelly, Allen Chadwick, Lisa Chadwick; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; two brothers; Drew Chadwick and Charlie Chadwick; four sisters, Eliza Rainey, Opal Johnson, Betty Mansfield, Willene Chadwick.
Graveside funeral service was held Saturday, August 29, at 2:00 p.m. at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
