C.S. BOUTON DIED FRIDAY IN LITTLE ROCK

C.S. Bouton, former prominent Washington County fruit grower and for the past 18 years federal crop statistician for Arkansas, died Friday night in a Little Rock hospital, after a few days illness. He was in his 63rd year.

Funeral services were held in Little Rock Sunday afternoon at the Second Presbyterian Church of which he was a member. The body was returned to Springdale for burial, where short services were held at the Bluff cemetery Monday afternoon.

Mr. Bouton was born near Chicago in 1871. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois, and before coming to Arkansas practiced law in Chicago and Oklahoma City, Mr. Bouton and his family came to Springdale in 1902 where he purchased a fruit farm and later he became active in horticulture and served as a president of Arkansas State Horticultural Society. Following his appointment in 1919 as State statistician, he moved to Little Rock. Mr. Bouton was well known to a majority of the fruit growers in Benton County.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Clara Bouton, is survived by two sons and a daughter.
