Infant Daughter of Charles Franklin Athy & Mattie Rose Stoner Athy.
Born & Died August 12, 1935, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Note: The child is not mentioned on the gravestone, but the obituary for Mattie Rose Stoner Athy clearly indicated that the child was buried in the same grave as her mother. Two selected excerpts from the obituary for Mattie Rose Stoner Athy that was carried in the August 16, 1935, issue of The Calico Rock Progress are as follows:
"Mrs. Mattie Rose Athy, aged 37, wife of Charles F. Athy of 215-1/2 Barton Ave. Little Rock, passed away last Monday morning, after a very brief illness, her death following by only a few moments the birth of her infant daughter, which also failed to survive. Her death, which occurred in a hospital in that city, was result of unforeseen complications and came as a shock to the family and a host of friends."
and
"The remains of mother and infant were borne here in a single casket, accompanied by members of the family, relatives and friends, arriving on the one o'clock train, Tuesday."
