The cemetery is located near Water Creek across from the Freck Church of Christ. Named for the Thomas Burnes family who settled the area around 1852, it was later called Freck Cemetery. When Marian Burnes surveyed the Marion County cemeteries in the 1980s, the cemetery's name had been changed to Water Creek Cemetery. To get to the cemetery from Yellville head south on Hwy 14 then turn right onto County Road 5026, stay on 5026 then turn right on County Road 5016. The Cemetery is on the left and the church on the right.
