W, J. Grammer, aged 42 years, died at his home in Bentonville on Saturday night after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the home sunday afternoon with the Rev. Oscar Ingold of the First Christian Church in Rogers and Rev. R. S. Hayden, pastor of the M.E. Church, South of this place, in charge. Burial was made in the City Cemetery under the auspices of the American Legion Post of Bentonville of which he was a member. Mr. Grammer was born in Bentonville Oxct. 16, 1891. He was married Oct 18, 1917 at Fort Logan H Roots, Little Rock, to Miss Effie Johnson.
He was a member of Battery D, 142nd Field Artillery which saw considerable service overseas. For some time Mr. Grammer had been employed in an oil refinery in Tulsa where it is stated he contracted a disease from which he could not recover. Besides his parents he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Effie Grammer, two children, four brothers, Orville, Rogers and Clayton Grammer of this city ans Sam Grammer of Gravette, and by a sister who lives in California.
