Mrs. Mary A. Churchill Succumbs Tuesday
Mrs. Mary A. Churchill, aged 63, died at her home at this place, last Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. Her death followed several months of lingering illness.
Mrs Churchill spent practically all her life in Calico Rock and vicinity. She was born in Alabama in 1874, but came to this section when she was about four years of age. At the age of 19 she was married to James Stoner of this place, to which union were born seven children. Mr. Stoner's death occurred in 1908. In 1910 she was united in marriage to William Churchill of this place, who survives.
The surviving children are: Mrs S. C. Berry of Berry, William Stoner, Paul Stoner, and Miss Zelma Stoner of Calico Rock, Mrs Earl R. Wiseman of New York City and Homer Stoner of Mellette, South Dakota.
Deceased was a woman of fine qualities and her life was one of strict devotion to those about her. She united with the Church of Christ early in life and lived a devout member until death.
She was loved and respected by all who knew her. The beautiful floral offerings and the many sorrowing friends present at the funeral service bore testimony to the high esteem in which the deceased was held in her home community. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ, Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Eld. T. H. Sherrill. Interment was in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
