J. C. Carrico was born in Howell County, Missouri, January 29, 1873 and departed this life July 2, 1957 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 3 days.

At an early age he moved to Izard County, Arkansas and in 1892 he was married to Dona Reece, who preceded him in death on March 3, 1948. To this union were born seven children, all of whom survive. He was converted at an early age and became a member of the Friends Church and lived a devout Christian life.

He is survived by three sons, Austin of Rockford, Ill., Arval of Mtn. Home and Claude of Calico Rock; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Passey of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Bertie Grove of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Alice Estes of Glenn Ferry, Idaho and Mrs. Bessie Hudson of Calico Rock; three sisters, Mrs. May Wilkerson and Mrs. Arminda Belcher of Bentonville and Mrs. Esta Randolph of Yakima, Wash; one brother, Hubert Carrico of Ukiah, Ore.; 30 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

He was loved by all who knew him and his passing is mourned by his many friends as well as his relatives.

His funeral service was conducted at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church by the pastor Rev. F Chesnut. Interment was in the Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Hall Funeral Home.
