ASHDOWN, Ark.—Danielle Hooks, 17, of Ashdown died Monday, June 7, 2010, in Ashdown.
Danielle was born June 18, 1992, in Texarkana, Texas. She graduated from Ashdown High School, accepted to Henderson State University, Arkansas Tech University and Southern Arkansas University, Merit Roll Student, member of National Honor Society, Foreign Language Club, Upward Bond program, Beta Club and Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served in youth choir, youth usher and youth secretary.
Survivors include her parents, Danny and Asla Hooks of Ashdown; one brother, William Carl Hooks of Texarkana; one sister, Felicia Cursh of Ashdown; her grandmother, Alberta Cursh; her great-grandmother, Leola Cursh; one nephew, Martez Harris; one niece, Sanaa Hooks; one special friend, Jelesa Easter; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be noon Saturday at Community Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Eric Nelson and Anthony Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery under direction of Madden Funeral Services.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
