Star City~ Mrs. Mittie Mae Bates, 87, of Star City, died Saturday at a nursing home here. She was the widow of Jessie G. Bates. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church here. Survivors include four sons, Herman Bates, Raymond Bates and George Bates, all of Star City, and Ralph Bates of Norwich, Connecticut; a daughter, Mrs. Mabelle Kimbrell of Malvern; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Calvary Assembly of God Church here by Reverend G.A. Stubbs. Burial was to be in Leek Cemetery by Griffin Funeral Home here.
