Arlie Jones Martin, 92, of Crossett died Friday, January 7, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare in Crossett. Born October 25, 1912, in Union, MS, to the late Alexander "Zan" and Corrine Love Smith Jones, she had been a cafeteria worker at the Hastings Elementary School and Star City Elementary schools. She never learned to drive, but provided food for many people, with others delivering it for her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crossett.

Survivors include three daughters, Myra Martin and husband Larry of Crossett, Marilyn Decker and husband Louis of Dickinson, TX, and Barbara Kay Cole and husband Leo of Baytown, TX; one stepson, Gibb Martin of Star City; one brother, Carlton Jones of Anderson, IN; give grandchildren, Leslie Butcher, Tina Floyd, Tammi Webb, Todd Martin and Christi Franks; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Martin, and her stepmother, Ethel Jackson.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 9, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Larry White officiating. Pallbearers were James Allen, John Knight, Dub Byers, Steve Webb, John Floyd and Leslie Butcher. Honorary pallbearers were Ross Wayne Martin and Todd Martin. Burial followed 4 p.m. services at the Jones Cemetery in Star City.
