JONESBORO -- Wilfred "Wimp" Goad, 81, of Jonesboro, formerly of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Northeast Arkansas Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Nettleton. He was retired from Burlington Industries and of the Pentecostal faith.

He was the son of the late Richard Goad and Carrie Carson Goad and was preceded in death by one son, Donald Ray Goad; two grandsons, Preston and Chad Sanson; and one granddaughter, Angelia Goad.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Woods Goad of Jonesboro; five sons, C.W. Goad, Gary Goad, Dickie Goad and Eugene Goad, all of Jonesboro, and Rick Goad of Monticello; four daughters, Zoe Ann Lisa of Virginia Beach, Va., Judy Goad of Fayetteville, Lavera Burton of Wilmar and Chris Rose of Hensley; one brother, Dean Goad of Jonesboro; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Stephenson-Dearman Chapel at Monticello. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery with arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in the funeral home.

Mary Ann Goad
Mary Ann Goad, 80, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born to the late Louis and Christine Woods in Jonesboro on September 7, 1938. Mary lived most of her life in Jonesboro and attended church at The Rock in Jonesboro and at Healing Hands Community Church in Trumann.  There are many adjectives that can be used to describe Mary such as resilient, brave, courageous, and adventurous. But the most important adjective would be caring. Mary cared for everybody and was the best caregiver; she loved to care for her friends and family.  She was also an avid sports fan and her favorite being basketball. Some of Mary’s favorite teams were the Lady Vols, Arkansas Razorbacks, and most importantly the Arkansas State Red Wolves. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Goad; three steps sons, one daughter in law, and four grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Chris Rose of Hensley, Arkansas and Lavera Burton (Pete) of Jonesboro; son, Eugene Goad of Jonesboro; sisters, Nancy Dorton and Wilma Inmon both of Jonesboro; step children, Gary, Rick, Zoe, and Judy;  grandchildren, Marcus, Lee, Brian(Diana), Jeffrey(Jennifer), Michael(Stephanie), Christopher, Neil, Tim, Matt,  Michelle(Randy), Lana(Chris), Josh(Cori), and Keith; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and special extended family, May and Ann. Mary also leaves behind a host of other family and friends that will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Healing Hands Community Church, 1817 W. Main, Trumann, Arkansas 72472 with Mark Bishop officiating.

Burial will be private.
