Mary Virginia "Jenny" Chesser, 87, of Jonesboro died Saturday, July 5, at Rose Skil Care Nursing Center.
Born in McCrory, she had lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was employed as an administrative secretary for Citizens Bank and was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jonesboro Elks Lodge.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward "Jack" Chesser; and her parents, Joseph R. and Berth Rhodes Winters.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Oaklawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
