Sharon Kay Hoyt, 49, of Paragould died Friday, July 11, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
Born in Paragould, she was a writer and a graduate of Arkansas State University. She was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include her parents, Curtis and Alberta Burns Newsom of Paragould; and one brother, Dan Newsom of Searcy.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel in Paragould, with Jody McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Knot Cemetery at Paragould.
Memorials may be made to Crowley's Ridge Academy, 606 Academy Drive, Paragould 72450, or to the Greene County Humane Society.
