Mr. Thomas Franklin Adkins, age 81, of Midway passed away Monday, December 28, 2009, at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Thomas Adkins was born October 9, 1928, in Hopewell, Arkansas to Homer J. and Addie(Wilson) Adkins. He married Mary Funkhauser February 15, 1985, in Mt. Home, Arkansas. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Adkins was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife, Mary Adkins of the home; 4 sons, David Adkins (Brenda) of Round Rock, Texas, Carl Adkins (Kay) of Mt. View, Arkansas, Tommy Adkins (Raenita) of Burleson, Texas, Keith Southard (Nancy) of Springfield, Missouri; 4 daughters, Betty Teague (Barton) of Salem, Arkansas, Maxine Coggins (Franklin) of Springfield, Missouri, Joanne Hicks (Danny) of Mt. Home, Arkansas, Wilma Teegarden (Noel 'Shorty') of Norfork, Arkansas; 12 granchilden; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 brothers, Gene and David; and three sisters, Sibyl, Coralee, Geogiann. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 grandsons, Michael Coggins and Desi Jones.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM Wednesday in the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Carson officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Chruch or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
