Mrs. Lillie Smalley Hughes, age 82, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mrs. Hughes, born Oct. 14, 1922, in Arab, Ala., was the daughter of William Roan and Lula Hill Roan. She lived in the Caldwell area for most of her life and was a housewife and member of First Baptist Church of Caldwell.
Mrs. Hughes married John Smalley in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1966. In 1974, she married Elmer Hughes and he preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Hughes is survived by one son, Harvey Smalley of Vilonia; a daughter, Martha Lucas of Forrest City; three sisters, Ruby Harper and Emma Hinkle, both of Blountsville, Ala. and Viler Hyatt of Lineville, Ala.; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Hughes will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery.
