Obituary
Frank Coggins, age 65, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010, in his home. He was born March 10, 1944, in Yellville, AR, to Dorthel and Eva (Lackey) Coggins. He was a member of Hillside Baptist Church for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife (childhood sweetheart) of 44 years, Maxine Coggins; son Lynn Coggins and wife Trecia; grandchildren, Adlena and Marlin Coggins; mother-in-law, Mary Adkins; two brother, many nieces and nephews and a large extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Coggins; brothers, Archie Coggins and Darrell Coggins; sisters, Sarah Hall and Augusta Sutterfield.
Frank retired from City Utilities after 32 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. His favorite times were deer hunting and camping with his grandchildren. To many other children, he was know as 'Papa Frank'.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Monday, January 4, 2010, in Hillside Baptist Church with Reverend Cecil Tolbert officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 1PM in Galatia Cemetery in Norfork. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010, 6 to 8PM in Hillside Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Baptist Church Teen Department to help send kids to camp, 8366 West Hwy 266, Springfield, MO 65802. Services have been intrusted to Green lawn Funeral Home, North Springfield, MO.
