Vida - July 5, 1924 - September 22, 2006
*Vida Jones Dempsey, 82, of Morrilton, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006, at her home in Morrilton. She was born July 5, 1924, in Oppelo, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Jeff Jones and Ethel Hanserd Jones. Other than her parents, Vida was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Elbert Dempsey, and child, daughter, Linda Elaine Dempsey.
Vida was a faithful member of the Solgohachia Baptist Church where she served her Lord as Sunday School teacher and church clerk. She was retired from SoundCraft Systems of Petit Jean Mountain where she was supervisor of the wiring and soldering department. Survivors include daughters, Betty Eddy of Clarks-ville, Phyllis Atkinson of Morrilton, and Laverne Lewis and husband, John L. Lewis of Morrilton; one grandson; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, at Harris Chapel with Bro. Mike Atkinson and Bro. A.D. “Bud” Stracner officiating. Burial was at Wolf Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers were Jerry Spence, Harold Spence, James Brewer, John F. Lewis, Louis Charton, and Donald Eddy. Petit Jean County Headlight
