Oliver Windell Barton 77 of Greenbrier died Monday (Jan. 24, 2005). He was born March 29, 1927 in Greenbrier to the late Oliver Otto Barton and Annie Elizabeth Castleberry Barton. He was a retired salesperson, an Army Veteran of WWII, thirty second Mason with over fifty year membership, a deacon at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church of Quitman and a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife Milgean Reynolds Barton, two daughters, Kathy Mallett and husband Danny of Greenbrier and Stacy Goforth and husband Tim of Cabot, son, Ronnie Barton and wife Sueof Greenbrier, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Peggy Tubbs and husband Lynn of Greenbrier and two brothers, Lee Royce Barton and William Curtis Barton.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Greenbrier with burial in Republican Cemetery with Bro. Bill Goodwin, Dr. Jesse Thomas and Bro. Todd Wilson officiating. Memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Benevlonce Fund. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Delbert Skinner, Erwin Brock, Keith Burroughs, Jesse Hoggard, John Clark, Larry Freeman and Kenneth Reed.
