Son of John & Mary Szewczyk.
Married Aileen Yopp, August 15, 1986, Dillon, Dillon County, South Carolina.

Funeral Service for Eugene Henry Szewczyk of Mountain Home, AR, will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 17, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Paul Poulosky officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M., Sunday, August 16 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Eugene Szewczyk died Thursday, August 13, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 89. He was born Thursday, April 15, 1920 in Warsaw, Poland, son of John and Mary Szewczyk. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 14, lied about his age to join and immigrated to the USA after WWII. He married Aileen Yopp on August 15, 1986 at Dillon, South Carolina and was a home builder. Eugene lived in Mountain Home since 1975 moving from Chicago, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing and was a City Council Member in Gassville.

Eugene Szewczyk is survived by his wife, Aileen Szewczyk, daughter, Debbie Saldana of Clearwater, FL and granddaughter, Jennifer Kate Compton.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial will be in the Gassville Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark VFW Post #3246 Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
