The land for this cemetery was donated by the Crossett Lumber Company in the early 1900's. In the 1930's the name was changed from Crossett Cemetery to Lakewood Cemetery. The City of Crossett maintains the cemetery. Many stones seem to have been cleaned with a chemical which has eroded the stones to the point that the lettering is not legible in some places.
To find the cemetery start at the North end of Main Street in Crossett, go East on Hwy #82 for six blocks, follow the highway around the curve going toward North Crossett approximately one half mile. Turn left at first road and follow it, going due West. The cemetery is located on the righthand side of the road, behind the Mill.
