CALICO ROCK - Otis Ezekiel Whiteaker, 94, of Mountain Home died Monday, March 4, 2002, at a Mountain Home hospital. Born Oct. 14, 1907, in Calico Rock, he was the son of William E. and Margaret Cassandra Lamb Whiteaker. He was a farmer and a member of the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Edward Whiteaker of Mountain Home; a daughter, Willa Mae Cope of Mountain Home; a sister, Lola Stoner of Missouri; four grandchildren, Steve Cope and Stephanie Baker, both of Mountain Home, and Gary Whiteaker and Rebecca Whiteaker, both of Emporia, Kan.; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Cope and Kyle Cope, both of Mountain Home, and Amy Whiteaker and Aaron Whiteaker, both of Emporia; and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; a grandson, Eddie Whiteaker; six brothers; and three sisters. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Home chapel in Calico Rock with Tom Stoner officiating. Burial will be at Staggs Cemetery at Calico Rock. Pallbearers will be Randy Whiteaker, Gary Whiteaker, Aaron Whiteaker, Steve Cope, Ryan Cope and Kyle Cope. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Killian and Gerald Wyatt. Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight.
