The Cotter Courier, Cotter, Arkansas, October 26, 1904:
OBITUARY
Miss Attie Laffoon was born November 17, 1880, and died of typhoid fever Sept. 10, 1904. Miss Attie was an orphan girl, her mother having died when she was an infant, and four years ago her father died, since which time she has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Chastain. Miss Attie joined the Christian church when she was 16 years old and lived a happy Christian life. She had a pleasant smile for everybody and her presence was sunshine wherever she went. While she is absent from the body we know she is present with the Lord. In her last hours she talked much to her mother, whom she seemed to realize as present. She leaves a sister and other relatives, to whom we would say, Attie is now safe from the world's temptations, free from its sorrow and care, happy with loved ones in glory. A FRIEND

On the tablet marker, Attie Lafoon is the twentieth name on the Post Civil War listing of burials in the Wolf Cemetery. It shows that her grave is unmarked.
