BELLA VISTA — Gustav "Gus" Furgal, 90, of Bella Vista died Nov. 20, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville. He was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Fulton, N.Y., to Joseph and Caroline Furgal.
He was a graduate of St. Louis University and went to work at Capital Airlines. He later went to United Airlines, where he was manager for 42 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Alexandria, Va., the Retired United Airlines Employees Association, United Management Club, Bella Vista 18-Hole Men's Golf Association, Bella Vista Computer Club and a member of the Hillsdale Methodist Church in San Mateo, Calif.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Downey Furgal; one sister, Olympia Krysion; daughter, Linda Furgal Spencer and husband Howard; grandson, William Spencer and wife Pomai; granddaughter, Kelly Jameson; two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bella Vista Funeral Home. A reception will follow for family and friends at Gus and Dorothy's home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, 72714.
