Obituary
Mrs. Emily Johnston Day, aged 41, wife of W. Cal Day, succumbed to an extended illness Wednesday afternoon at her home on Johnson Street. Her condition had been critical for several months and the end was not unexpected.
She was born September 20, 1881, in Miss., but came to Ark. with her parents when a child and had lived in Faulkner County over 40 years.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Day is survived by their daughter, Mrs. S.U. Butts of Boyyton, Okla., Mrs. W.H. Halbert of Conway, and Miss Anna Mae Day, who teaches at Jonesboro; by six sons, Joe Day of Fort Smith, Clarence, Vernon, Truett, Leo, and Raymond Day of Conway; by three sisters, Mrs. Katie Glenn of Miss., Mrs. Hamp Sellers of Arkadelphia, and Mrs. W.C. Kelley of Lollie; and by one brother, Don Johnston of Beryl.
Funeral services in charge of Dr. E.P.J. Garrott, pastor of the First Baptist Church, were held at the family resident at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Burial was made in the Macedonia Cemetery in charge of J.A. Pence & Son. Pallbearers were B.S. Neal, J.H. Dunn, C.W. Jones, M.C. Crow, W.P. Nowell, and George Joseph.
