Obit in the Emmet Etchings, Nevada County Picayune, Oct. 10 1888 -
DANIEL TYREE - - to rest at last. A good old citizen of this county gone. Daniel Tyree, better known as "Uncle Dan" who died on the 3rd at the residence of his son-in-law, John Vickers. Uncle Dan was 85 years of age and among the early settlers of this county; a zealous worker of the M.E. Church, of which he had long been a member.
