Rubye M. Sheeks, Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Corning, died in the home of her daughter.

She was a homemaker and music teacher. She was a member of Corning First Christian Church, affiliated with Lindenwood Christian Church, Memphis, Tennessee and Woodmont Christian Church, Nashville, Tennessee.

She graduated from DePauw University in Greenecastle, Indiana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, piano and organ. After college she taught music in Santiago, Chile for three years. Fraternal membership was Mother Check of Alpha Chi Omego. Twelve years ago Mrs. Sheeks left Corning and moved to Memphis with her daughter before moving to Nashville.

Survivors are two daughters, Willie Brandy, Nashville, Tennessee and Winnie Haruten, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Emily Manatt, two sisters and one brother. Graveside services were conducted in Corning Cemetery, Sunday afternoon, January 25, with Buster Griggs officiating.

Memorial may be made to First Christian Church, Corning. Ermert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
