1. Mrs. Leda Barber, wife of J.A. Barber, died at her home near Mt. Fork April 11,1909. She leaves a husband and nine children. Her remains were interred in the Foster Cemetery (Mountain Fork Cemetery). The following from Big Fork attending the funeral: Mrs. Barber, A.J. Foster and his three sons, Will, Tom and Walter. Mack Barber, a son of the deceased who lived near Opal, came up to see his sick mother. She was dying when he arrived.

2. In the death of Sister Leda Barber, which occurred April 11, a husband lost a good wife, nine children a good mother and the community a good woman.
Mrs. Barber was born September 23,1870, and was married December 22,1887. She leaves, besides a husband, six boys, three girls, an aged father, four brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn her departure, and the whole community to weep with the bereaved.
Sister Barber was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, enjoyed good Christian company and made her many friends all welcome at her home, and she had no enemies. Her life was a blessing to all who knew her. A sister in Christ, Georgia Redding.
