May 10, 1910 - October 26, 1999
Mr. Vollie M. Pearson, 89, of Hamburg died Tuesday, October 26, 1999 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg and a member of the Hamburg Church of Christ. He retired from Georgia-Pacific in 1973. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Pearson in 1988; a son, Jerry D. Pearson in 1995; his parents, Jim & Percillia Bains Pearson, four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by two sons, Tommy Pearson and his wife, Alice, of Crossett and Allen Pearson and his wife, Brenda of Natchitoches, LA; a daughter-in-law, Sue Pearson of Roundrock, TX; a brother, Edgar Pearson of Escondido, CA; a sister, Alene Dorsey of Longview, TX; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, October 29, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Revs. Joe Sponougle and John Overcash officiating. Pallbearers were Tommy Pearson, Jr., Keith & Kevin Pearson, Glenn Madden, Harry Tumlison and Oliver Griffin. Interment was in the Judson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Children's Home, 5515 Old Wolcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450-9983.
