Here is the first paragraph of a story in the June 11, 1937, issue of the Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Jerry McGowan, aged 20, of near Culp, Baxter County, met instant death Sunday night, at about 9 o'clock when he was struck and run over by a north Red Ball freight train. The accident occurred four miles west of here and one mile east of Berry switch.
