Virl "Ken" Sirk, age 79, of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was born on January 24, 1929 in Duck, West Virginia to the late Ray and Ethel Sirk. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Sirk and Larry Sirk, a sister, Betty Sigman, and a grandson, Clayton Killough. Virl retired as a TSgt. in 1970 from the United States Air Force. In 1989 he retired as Postmaster of McCrory. He was a 32nd degree Mason and he loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Doris Jean Sirk; daughter, Sherry (Gill) Via of Sherwood; sons, Ken Sirk of Mayflower, Steve (Manuka) Sirk of Las Vegas, Nevada and Gary (Debi) Sirk of Mayflower; two brothers, Marvin Sirk of Duck, West Virginia, Ronnie (Jenny) Sirk of Clay, West Virginia and a sister, Connie (Lonnie) Carter of Duck, West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a group of wonderful friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Terry Fortner officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Feb 14, 1934 - Jun 23, 2022

Doris Jean Sirk, 88, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was born February 14, 1934 in Montgomery, West Virginia to parents John Ovington and Beatrice Sprouts. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virl Kenneth Sirk; her son, Gary Sirk; two grandsons, Clayton and Josh Killough; and one great-grandson, Tanner Killough. Doris loved travelling, dancing and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Gill) Via; sons, Ken (Peggy) Sirk and Steve (Menuka) Sirk; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2022 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Tiner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Doris will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Park immediately following the service.
