The son of Oliver E. and Nellie Rhodes Barens,He was an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Martha Wilson Barens; his parents; three brothers,Tony, Buford and Keelan Barens; three sisters, Walsie Perry, Juneta Bollinger and Irene Blair.
Survivors include four children, Judy Bowen of Alma, Ronnie Barens of Witter, Alvin Barens of Springdale and Barbara Clifton-Hackwith of Springdale; five sisters, Laneta Campbell of Tulsa,Ok. Delva Montag of Broken Arrow,Ok.,Artibell Burton of Elkins, Wilma Robinson of Springdale and Francis Byrd of Springdale; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
