Charles Jeffrey was murdered in ambush on Jamestown Rd. on Hutchinson Mt. ,in Independence Co. AR. He was a blacksmith and a cattle inspector during the "tick eradication program'. He was shot and killed while going to inspect some cattle. The community was strongly divided in the inspection issue and there was great hostility against the inspections.
