Robert Kenneth Norris of Cotter died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mt. Home. He was 81.
Mr. Norris was born July 13, 1919, Timewell, Illinois to James L. and Mildred Miller Norris. On September 10, 1941, he married Louise Stephenson at Indiana.
Formerly of Choudrant, Louisiana, he had been a resident of Cotter since January 1995. He was a retired truck drive, a member of the Holiness Church and a veteran of World War II, serving with the 49th Field Hospital in France as part of the D-Day Invasion of Normandy.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Norris of Cotter; one daughter, Mary Louise Brister of Mt. Home; two sons, James Robert Norris and wife Clara, Winsboro, Louisiana and Thomas Wayne Norris of Mt. Home; two brothers, Arlo Paul Norris of Terre Haute, Indiana and Ben E. Norris of Lafayette, Indiana; three sisters, Mildred Okken, Ava Lee and Hazel Norris all of Quitman, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, James L. and Mildred Norris, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 29, 2001, from 5:00 until 8:00PM at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at 10:00AM at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Darwin Rainbolt officiating. Burial followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Buford.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors of Mt. Home, Arkansas.
