Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 1:30PM at Roller Chapel for Mrs. Leona Pearl Payne, 74, a resident of Mt. Home. She died Monday at Baxter General Hospital. She moved here in 1965 from Paragould.
Mrs. Payne was born June 21, 1903, in Illinois to the late Elizabeth Harper. She married James E. Payne in Mt. Home on April 13, 1967.
Surviving are her husband of the home; one son, Tommy Boyd of California; three daughters, Mrs. James Dunning of Naylor, MO, Mrs. Betty Rossman of North Carolina, and Mrs. Gordan Jentle of Paragould; step son Gene Payne of Independence, MO; and a step daughter, Mrs. Reba Hoskel of Mt. Home; one step brother, Donald Sweet and one step sister, Mrs. Agness Revell, both of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
Services will be officiated by Elder Remil Layton. Pallbearers are Henry Bettag, Otis Mabrey, Loyd Bolding, Orean Rouse, Daniel Grant and George Johnson.
Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Mt. Home.
