Charles B. (Charley)Jones, 85, of Pine Bluff, formerly of Baxter County, died Monday at a Pine Bluff nursing home.
A Methodist and retired farmer, he was a lifelong resident here until 1964 when he move to Pine Bluff.
The son of James Madison Jones and Julia Davis Savage Jones, he was born in the Buford community on March 10, 1887, and was marred here on Nov 22, 1908, to Lula Mae Bagwell. He farmed for a number of years in the Shady Grove community, later moving to Mt. Home where he operated a gift shop.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Mae Jones, of Pine Bluff; two sons, Houston A. of Pine Bluff and John Howard Jones of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services were scheduled for Wednesday at the McClure Chapel with Rev. Ben Few a Methodist minister of Mt. Home officiating.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery at Buford.
Pallbearers were Carl Cody, Tom Crawford, Kenneth Crawford, Kenneth Jackson, Joe Stancil and Jack Gregory.
