(Some census reports have his birth listed as February 1853 instead of the 1853 inscribed on the gravestone. The gravestone has a death date of 1922 inscribed; however, it is clear that he died in 1923 because, not only is there an obituary in a November 30, 1923, newspaper, but he is also listed on the Arkansas Death Index as having died November 24, 1923.)
